North Kern State Prison held its first Warden’s Charity Golf Tournament on Oct. 6 at the North Kern Golf Course in Bakersfield, raising over $9,000 for local nonprofit organizations.

Warden Kelly Santoro and CDW Brian Kibler.

Relay for Life and Honor Flight are just two of the charities benefiting from the tournament. Knowing all proceeds were being donated to local non-profit charities was a win, win day for all involved.

The tournament consisted of 36 teams with 134 players.

Warden Kelly Santoro said she was extremely thankful for all of the volunteers, sponsors, donors and golfers who participated in the event.

“This could not have been done without the dedication of all of the volunteers,” she said.

She was especially thankful for the contributions made by local businesses in Delano and Bakersfield. Participants of the event have already expressed their interest in “chipping” in for next year’s tournament.
