For the fifth consecutive year, at-risk children in Sacramento received warm clothing and stuffed animals from inmates at two CDCR institutions.

A girl models the knitted clothing she received.

The event early this month was sponsored by Correctional Workers Who Care (CWWC), said Diane Shepherd, a Case Records Analyst for the Division of Adult Institutions and founder of the CWWC.

Inmates at Folsom State Prison and Folsom Women’s Facility crocheted scarves, hats and stuffed animals for the children.

CWWC sponsors an annual breakfast with Santa and the clothing and toys are distributed at the Holiday Festival in Meadowview the first Saturday in December. More than 900 people attended this year’s event.
