California Health Care Facility
Offenders at the California Health Care Facility (CHCF) were rewarded for their good behavior and rehabilitative efforts. Much like the days of Warden Clinton Duffy in the 1940s, when he brought in outside talent to perform for the inmates, a similar program was implemented at CHCF at the beginning of the year.
Thanks to the efforts of Warden Michael Martel, a Jan. 18 dinner and comedy show was arranged for offenders who successfully completed at least 52 hours of rehabilitative programming and remained disciplinary free the previous 12 months. Invitations were sent to each inmate with their name on it.
CHCF kitchen staff prepared the meal for the 102 inmates who attended the banquet.
Professional comedian Jorge Marroquin (DJ Cooch) performed for the inmates for about 45 minutes.
