Bicycles were presented to 100 families.

The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) and Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP), in partnership with the Soledad Police Department and the Soledad Unified School District, recently provided holiday meals and gifts for 100 families.

The eighth annual Cops Giving Tree event for disadvantaged children and their families was held on Dec. 15, 2017. The local families were given 100 bikes and 500 gifts.

Assembly member Anna M. Caballero, 30th District, recognized CTF and SVSP for their commitment and support with meaningful gifts for hundreds of children and their families during the holidays.

CTF Warden Shawn Hatton and SVSP Warden William Muniz thanked all those who supported the effort.

“We want to thank our staff for their generosity and support in giving back to the community,” they said in a written statement.

Families were served meals and given bicycles and gifts.
