California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison
The California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison at Corcoran, along with the inmate population, were able to conduct inmate food sales across the institution to raise money for disaster relief administered by the American Red Cross.
Due to the recent wildfires and flooding, the inmate population donated a percentage of each food sale to the American Red Cross, with the assistance of Departmental staff. The inmate food sales were an effort from everyone involved from beginning to end. The effort paid off with $7,159.62 donated to the organization.
“It was a great opportunity for departmental employees to work together with the inmate population to raise the proceeds for a greater good. We hope the money donated will assist families with the recent tragedies they were faced with and we appreciate the opportunity to provide support. From facility staff to the inmate population, none of this could have been accomplished without the effort of everyone involved,” said Warden S. Sherman.
