A total of 70 Inmates graduated from Global Leader in Evidence – Based Rehabilitation (GEO) Programs at the California Correctional Center in late January.
Although some participants had already been released on parole, those remaining enjoyed the ceremony celebrating their achievements. Warden Suzanne Peery and many others joined in. They witnessed the ceremony and congratulated the inmates as they walked up to retrieve their certificates and shake hands with instructors, Warden Peery and staff.
The GEO Groups provide leading, evidence-based, rehabilitation programs to inmates while in-custody and continue upon release. GEO provides opportunities for the delivery of educational and vocational programs, cognitive behavioral, substance abuse treatment, and faith-based services across the entire corrections spectrum.
The inmates who graduated during this ceremony had received certificates for completing the following courses: Criminal Thinking, Anger Management, Family Relations, and Substance Abuse. These programs provide positive reinforcement which is beneficial to inmates while in prison and upon release into the community.
