California Medical Facility
The California Medical Facilities (CMF) Community Resources Manager (CRM) David Maldonado and PIO Lt. Megan Cherinka recently went into the Solano County community to donate funds from recent inmate food sales held in January and February.
Two of the largest donations went to the Heather House of Fairfield, $3,000, and Opportunity House in Vacaville, $1,500. Both the Opportunity and Heather House assist with the homeless population in Solano County, specifically, women, children and families. Both missions help individuals attain a self-sufficiency and productive lifestyle needed in order to obtain consistent employment, housing, and more.
CMF also donated to the following:
- Solano County SPCA $500
- Special Olympics of Northern California $500
- Adopt a Cadet (Pubic Safety Academy) $520 (Sponsors two cadets for school year)
- Safe Quest Solano County $500
- Fisher House, Travis Air Force Base $472
- Cambridge Elementary School Science Camp $500
Total funds donated totaled $7,492.
The CMF team said they believe through positivity in the community we can work on rehabilitation inside and outside of the walls.
