Correctional Lt. Derrick “Bo” Taylor, who was killed in the October 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting, was honored during the annual Tuolumne County Peace Officer Memorial in Sonora.

Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) has a longstanding tradition of providing an Honor Guard to post the colors for this event but the May 10, 2018, memorial was even more somber as SCC honored one of CDCR’s own.

Warden (A) Hunter Anglea read Lt. Taylor’s name and end of watch date as part of the ceremony.

SCC had multiple staff members in attendance to pay their respects to all of the fallen heroes who lost their lives in the 2017 calendar year.

“My hope is not only were we able to honor those Officers who tragically passed, but also their families who are still here and suffering the loss of their loved one which will never go away,” said Warden (A) Anglea.
