A Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) agent was recently honored in Yuba County for his efforts to protect and advocate for crime victims.

Parole Agent I Lorenzo Lee of the Sierra Parole District-Sierra GPS Parole Unit was recognized by the Yuba County Board of Supervisors and Yuba County Victim Services.

In partnership with Yuba County’s services, Lee meets with victims to explain the parole process. He encourages victims to understand their rights and how to let their voices be heard.

Jason Roper, manager of the county’s victim services unit, said Lee works extensively with his office to help crime victims. Lee helped build partnerships with Roper’s staff to benefit victims. He said Lee urged Roper’s staff to join the sex offender containment team to the benefit of victims.

Due to Agent Lee’s support, more victims are getting helps form the CDCR Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services.

Lee, who is a part-time academy instructor, is working on a victims’ advocay and rights curriculum to present to his fellow parole agents.
