The Bill Glass prison ministry representatives visited the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and California State Prison at Corcoran (SATF-SP) for their annual “Behind the Walls” tour weekend of champions early in May.

A Dallas-based Christian ministry (https://www.behindthewalls.com) with dedicated staff and volunteers numbering in the thousands, is known for its high-energy Day of Champions and Weekend of Champions events conducted inside prisons across the country.

Bill Glass, a star football player in high school, an all-American at Baylor University, and an 11-year player in the National Football League, has spent much of the last 40 years bringing along pro athletes, champion weight lifters, magicians, tight-rope walkers – as well as race cars, stunt planes, motorcycles, and just about anything or anyone else – to draw prisoners with a message of hope and deliverance, according to the organization.

“The event was a huge success. The participation from the inmate population and interaction with the ministries’ volunteers was amazing to oversee. I’m glad to have participated and without the hard work of every staff member involved this could have not been a success. ” said Facility B Captain Amber Williams.
