In March 2017, the California Rehabilitation Center’s (CRC)  Chief Physician and Surgeon Doctor Kenneth Maxwell lost his wife after a long battle with cancer.  Staff members expressed their interest in providing support in the form of flowers and/or monetary donations; however, Dr. Maxwell requested staff donate to the City of Hope Vicki Maxwell Lymphoma Fund.

City of Hope is a national medical research facility and hospital. All funds raised are being directed to City of Hope to continue their work in research, treatment and education. The City of Hope is a global leader in the fight against cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Their leading-edge research and discoveries have saved millions of lives around the world since 1913. They have an overall rating of 4 stars by Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity watchdog group.

The goal is to reach $10,000 so a rose bush can be planted and a memorial plaque in Mrs. Maxwell’s honor can be displayed in the Rose Garden at City of Hope.  We are currently at $8,300. Even a small donation will help CRC staff achieve their goal. Monetary gifts will be utilized immediately to help save lives and train doctors and other researchers worldwide

Mrs. Maxwell’s memorial fund can be found at

“I feel extremely lucky to have such supportive friends and family in my life,” said Dr. Maxwell.
