Staff from the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison (SATF) delivered 11 boxes of canned food and men’s athletic shoes to the Corcoran Emergency Aid last month.

“Thank you so much,” said Marilyn Nolan, Executive Director of Corcoran Community Aid. “You don’t know how much the community appreciates your donations.”

On hand to help pass out the donations on June 7 were Correctional Officer Joaquin Villareal, Compliance Analyst Jeanette Bragg, Community Resources Manager Jason Moore and Community Resources Office Technician Ashley Engen.

SATF regularly donates canned food items and athletic shoes to the community center in an effort to give back to those less fortunate.  It has been a priority of the institution to work with the community throughout the entire year and not just around the holidays.

“It is important that we remember to give back to the community,” Warden Stu Sherman said, “and it is equally important to ensure that both our staff and the inmate population are provided an opportunity to work together to give back to our community.”
