California Correctional Institution
The California Correctional Institution (CCI) is a prison like no other, and the same is said for the staff that works here.
Tucked back up in the hills of the Tehachapi Mountains, CCI staff work diligently day in and day out providing safe and secure incarceration of offenders while ensuring rehabilitative strategies are implemented daily to successfully reintegrate offenders back into the community.
While the Administration is continuously striving to improve upon the efficiency of delivering rehabilitative programs and reducing costs, it’s the staff that carries out the daunting task of providing more and utilizing less.
The question arises, how do you thank staff properly? The Executive Staff determined that saying thank you was not enough.
The truth is you can’t thank your staff enough. On July 18, 2018 CCI’s Administrative Staff fought off the July sun and rolled up their sleeves and started cooking.
CCI’s Warden Sullivan said, “I want everyone to know that CCI has the best staff, and without them we wouldn’t be able to do the job that we do.” Out in the heat, Mr. Sullivan and his Executive Staff were found passing out lunches to staff coming in and leaving.
Serving up hot links, chips, bottled water and savory cookies, the Administrators worked quickly to carry the meals out to their staff. A personalized thank you card from the Warden and CEO were personally handed out thanking staff for their hard work.
The administration was able to express their gratitude for the continued efforts of the diligent, hard-working correctional staff that make up CCI.
