The Long Term Offender Program (LTOP) held its first graduation at California Health Care Facility on July 24 with 43 graduating.
The LTOP program is a voluntary program to offenders who are subject to the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) parole suitability process.
The programs objective is to provide long term offenders with cognitive behavioral treatment to address criminogenic needs as well as identify potential risk using varies tools and skill sets to use in everyday situations, there for reducing the risk of reoffending.
The LTOP program includes Victim Impact, Denial Management, Criminal Thinking and Family Relationship and Substance Use Disorder classes. Guest speakers included the Anti-Recidivism Coalition and Semillas, an education advocacy group, acknowledged the graduates’ successful completion.
The HealthRight360 staff will continue to provide participants and potential participants with useful tools to incorporate in their lives inside of prison as well as in their community.
