Correctional Training Facility

The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) recently unveiled of its remodeled fitness center.

The vision to convert the building into a fitness center was by former Warden Shawn Hatton, who in turn was honored as the founder. The facility was appropriately named the “Big Hatt Fitness Center.”

Hundreds of CTF staff member joined in the festivities, which included a free hamburgers, chips and drinks.

Warden Craig Koenig extended many thanks to Pete Meza, president of the Correctional Officers Federal Credit Union and to his staff who donated hamburgers and assisted in the serving of the food.

Equal thanks were given to the fitness center planning and organizing committee.

The committee included Associate Warden K. Hoffman, Business Manager, S. Salas, Sgt. E. Abanico along with Sgt. F. De la Torre and Lt. C. Espinoza, who were the BBQ masters.

Also thanks were given to the plant operations staff for the renovation work.

Additional thanks were given to Bobbie Hammond, CDCR associate director of Employee Health and Wellness (EHW), and the CDCR EHW Department for their support and for providing the state of the art equipment.

Warden Koenig thanked all the staff for their support and challenged everyone to take advantage of the Fitness Center to enhance their overall health and wellness.

All staff members were invited to tour the fitness center.
