In the 18 years I’ve worked at CMF (for over 17 years as an EOP clinician, and just over the past few months in my 18th as a CCCMS clinician), I have watched CDCR grow. My focus is mental health, but many patients also have medical conditions, and as CDCR has met, and in my opinion exceeded, service expectations/mandates laid out in lawsuits (viz., Coleman, Plata), I have been amazed at the tireless efforts and exceptional leadership by Secretary Kernan. Not only have inmates and their families benefitted from his leadership, but CA as a whole; for these individuals return not only to their families, but to the community as a whole. An incredible career, and incredible accomplishments.
