CalHR and CDCR Headquarters will host a joint kick-off event on Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the headquarters atrium courtyard at 1515 S St. in Sacramento. There will be several non-profit organizations, live music, games, prizes, free food and presentations from CDCR, CalHR, and Our Promise leaders. Non-headquarters employees are welcome to attend.

The campaign runs Sept. 12-Oct. 12, 2018. Through Our Promise, state employees help thousands of non-profit organizations raise funds for causes and communities by providing an easy method for employees to contribute through a one-time or regular minimal monthly payroll deduction to non-profit charities of their choice. Monthly campaign donations can be made for as little as $5 per month.

During the campaign season, programs, divisions, institutions and offices throughout California hold local events and meetings to raise awareness about the campaign. The CDCR Office of Labor Relations is leading the campaign this year, and wants to highlight the opportunity each office has to have some fun with the campaign, and use the opportunity to boost morale in the office and in your community by hosting events and activities with co-workers.

Our department’s campaign goals are to increase CDCR’s total donations to over $630,000 and to increase our overall employee participation in providing donations. Last year, CDCR employees raised just under $570,000 during the campaign.
