During the Carr Fire, parole agents joined forces with Shasta County law enforcement to assist with evacuating residents in the Redding area. Their efforts didn’t stop there though as they also gathered supplies and delivered them to an evacuation center. DAPO staff then raised money to assist two agents’ families who lost their homes during the devastating fire.

On July 26, Parole Agent (PA) III William Harrison, PA II Specialist Randy Abney, PA I Matt Ledbetter and PA I Justin Benson assisted Shasta County law enforcement will evacuations within the Redding area. The following night, July 27, PA I Jeremy White assisted with evacuations.

All five agents are commended for their heroic actions.

Staff within the Sierra District along with East Bay District collectively donated items to give to the evacuees of the Carr Fire.

In addition, staff within the Sierra District raised over $1,400 that was donated to two DAPO agent’s families, whose homes were destroyed by the Carr Fire.
