Dunkin Donuts was recently taken over by local police, sheriff and correctional officers for the second Cop On A Rooftop fundraiser hosted by the Special Olympics.
Last year, over 29 stores participated in the event, raising $16,840 for Special Olympics. This year over 62 locations participated in the Nov. 2 event and combined they raised $42,200.
The top fundraising location was Tehachapi, which brought in $5,174. Staff from Tehachapi Police, Kern County Sheriff, California Correctional Institution and California City Correctional Facility (CAC) worked together to raise funds. CAC also brought a donation from the institution, which helped to sweeten the pot and eventually helped them earn the top fundraising spot for the year.
