October 2018 marked the first time CDCR participated in the pink patch project and in one month, Folsom State Prison, California Health Care Facility, California Institution for Men and California Men’s Colony collectively raised $7,665 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Organizers gave special thanks to Mark Jackson, Kevin Ginni, Darren Nagtalon and Maria Souza from Folsom prison; April Martinez from CHCF, Lt. Monica Ayon from CMC, Jose Becerra from CIM, as well as CDCR employees from Central California Women’s Facility, California Rehabilitation Center and the Division of Adult Parole Operations who purchased patches.

Organizers hope to have even more participation next year in this initiative to support breast cancer research and breast cancer survivors.
