The passing of Barbara Williams, a retired CDCR employee who worked for the CDCR from 1990-2014, was reported by her family on Feb. 28, 2019.

In 1987, she started her career with the CDCR at the Northern California Women’s Facility as an Office Technician. From June 1990 to November 1991, she worked as a Liaison for the Friends Outside, a non-profit organization at the Deuel Vocational Institution.

She transferred to the NA Chaderjian in November 1991, where she remained for seven years. She promoted often and held various positions to include a Teacher’s Assistant, Office Assistant and Office Technician.

From September 1998 to March 1999, Barbara worked at the California Youth Authority, Institutions and Camps Branch, Sacramento, as a Secretary to the Chief of Public Service & Support Division.

From March 1999 to June 2002, she worked at the Northern California Women’s Facility, Stockton, as an Office Services Supervisor I.

To further her CDCR career, from June 2002 to approximately 2005, Barbara worked at the California Correctional Health Care Services as a Secretary to an Administrator.

In 2006 she worked for the Office of Civil Rights as a Staff Services Analyst. From 2007 to December 2014 she worked for the Division of Rehabilitative Programs as an AGPA where she remained until her retirement.
